Spayed / neutered.
Mercury is one of the babies whose mom and dad were rescued from the streets in February of this year. He was born in March of this year and is big and beautiful for such a young boy, weighing in at 6 ½ pounds! He is a large, gentle giant – we suspect there is some Chinchilla rabbit in his background, with maybe a dash (or more) of Flemish Giant. Mercury would like you to know that he is named after the smallest planet in our solar system, and the one that orbits closest to the sun! Mercury is also the name of a liquid metal, Hg in the Periodic Chart of Elements, called quicksilver, which is the same color as the beautiful silver highlights in his gray fur.
Besides being such a smart bun, Mercury is very sweet and will stretch out next to you so that you can pet him from head to toe! Like most rabbits he is not crazy about being picked up, but if you must he will obligingly settle into your arms for the duration. Mercury’s foster mom says that he uses his litter box better than any rabbit she has known. This intelligent and affectionate rabbit is looking for that special home where his elemental and cosmic significance will be appreciated, and where the love and hay will be plentiful.
We adopt to indoor homes only! If you are interested in adopting a bunny from Orlando Rabbit Care and Adoptions or would like more information on rabbit care, please visit our website at: http://www.orlandorabbit.org. The first step to adoption is to complete our adoption form: http://orlandorabbit.org/resources/adopting/adopting.php.
Our Adoption Fee/Donation for a single rabbit is $75, while a pair is $125. This helps to offset our cost for altering the rabbits and their medical care.
