Gentle, Quiet, Shy
Meet the duo pair Bean (crested head) and Frenchie. The boys are estimated to be slightly over a year old and are on the shy side. They came to our rescue from a transfer between another rescue after that rescue had an overwhelming number of guinea pigs being surrendered to them. So Munchie's Place stepped in to help.
Bean and Frenchie have been looking for a home since Nov 2020. They were previously kept in a large mixed gender heard that was kept outdoors for what we can only assume was most of their life. These boys are healthy, indoors only now and would love a home by themselves or with other boars. Bean and Frenchie are related to Jelly and Marshmallow who are also at the rescue but in their own pairs.
Bean and Frenchie are gentle, quiet and a bit shy. They dislike nail trimming time, but are good boys none the less. These boys are very messy, so we suggest litter pans and fleece bedding since they will fling pine bedding everywhere and knock over their food bowls. Bean seems to be the more dominant guinea pig and loves to sit on top of his hide. Frenchie could use a bit more social interaction but both boys get along with each other great, Bean more so with human interactions.
Male pigs are required more space, so please make sure you have a 2X4 enclosure for the boys if looking to adopt together as the only piggies in your life. Otherwise we see both brothers doing well with a 3rd boar friend or herd. It's advised to keep them in trios instead of duo's since they're herding animals.
Please inquire further to learn more about Bean and Frenchie. We respond via email Monday - Friday when available.
