Likes to hang out with his person, Quiet, Only eats once a week to four weeks, Easy keeper
Dogs, cats, children.
Art was almost eaten by his food. Seriously! A rat was left with him in his enclosure and it almost finished him off! Art is missing the end of his tail and has a lot of scar tissue covering his body. He had exposed bone EVERYWHERE. Including areas of his vertebrae. We weren’t sure he was even going to make it. It took months of treatments and healing to get him back together again. He is roughly 10 to 11 years old, but these guys can live to 30 years so he has lots of time left to be an awesome pet! He has been transitioned over to frozen thawed rats. Was rough going for a while for a snake that only ate live rats when he was then terrified of any food that moved. He takes thawed rats like a champ now! You can purchase frozen food for him from just about any pet shop. I put that he’s house broken. What I mean by that is the only time he goes potty is after a meal. If he eats once a week then he will only go potty once a week. Art can actually go several months without eating, but it’s recommended you keep him on a regular consistent diet. Sometimes he’ll choose to fast for a couple months on his own and you want him to be a healthy weight when he decides to do that.
We would prefer someone with experience adopt Art, but it’s not a requirement. They’re not difficult to care for. It’s knowing what they need as far as habitat, temperature, and humidity that makes all the difference. I can supply care sheets to those interested in learning. For information on adopting Art send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and put “Art-Cosmo’s Cause” in the Subject space.
As a side note we have dogs and cats here and Art has never paid any attention to them. If you have dogs/cats you’ll have to make sure they don’t harm Art as he will not hurt them.
