Meet tiny 4Lb. heartthrob Romeo. 110% adorable! He's around 6 months. He'll grow a bit more, but still be on the tiny side fully grown.
Romeo can be a bit shy as he is still adjusting to all the new things that come with life outside of the shelter, but he's finding there is so much of it he can't get enough of. So far added to his list of favorites are lots of cuddles, soft beds, toys, and treats. And, despite his small stature (which he seems to be totally unaware of) he has a huge heart. He's ready to give all his love to a person/family who will give him boundless love right back.
For a puppy, Romeo is on the easy side. Sure he has spurts of puppy energy, playfulness, and even yard zoomie sessions, but they are balanced out nicely with frequent naps and plenty of lap time. He's been such a good boy about doing his business outside so long as he is taken out frequently and you stay out with him. He is not leashed trained, so does need a securely fenced in yard at this time for potty breaks. He is not a fan of being crated, but could be worked with on this.
He does display nervousness around new and busy environments. This is understandable given how overwhelming everything is after life in the shelter (the only world he knew). Romeo's place will be with a person/family that, once he bonds with them, will be willing to invest time in slowly introducing him to new and different things. Basic training should also be part of the family plan. These are necessary pieces to helping him grow into a confident little man.
Romeo loved playing with his siblings and other dogs his size in the shelter play yard. In foster he has done well with other smaller size dogs. Dogs much bigger than him make him too nervous and he tries to act like a tough guy. He's good with kids, but his tiny size means any kids would have to older and small dog savvy.
Romeo will have an Underdog provided neuter. He is microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and preventatives, and has a recent negative fecal test. His adoption fee is $450. He is being fostered in Vancouver, WA
