Story

The Jazz Man is the life of the party! Jazz is a people lovin', nook and cranny explorin', smart-as-heck hep cat on the scene! He lives his life like he plays his sax - with verve and for the crowd. Jazz wants all the pets and all the treats. He's a pleasure maximalist. He's out to sniff everything in the room then flop at your feet while you laptop away. Aplomb? Jazzy's got it in spades.

True to his name, Jazz loves to improvise. Give him a room to roam and he'll be-bop-ing around (get it?) like Charlie Parker at the Blue Note. What'll he do next? Hop on that stool? Superman on the rug? Take a soulful gaze out the window? Avant-garde arrangements are his speciality. And, like anyone who takes his craft seriously, he's got a good sense of his own limits.
Where does this boy's winning confidence come from? Born that way, is all we can say! Jazzy is part of the seven Music Babies born to Mama Rhapsody on 2/23/22. Jazz is fantastic with all people, familiar and new. His original foster home with his mama and littermates had a dog, cats, and bunny-savvy kids. His current foster home just has a noisy neighbor hound next door. Jazz's inborn confidence and ease would serve him well in essentially any cross-species dynamic. Jazz stays cool, calm, and collected. Cool Jazz no matter what's goin' down, daddy-o! Can you dig?

His fosters call Jazz their little doggy because every time they come anywhere near his pen, he bounds over and stands on his tiny hind legs, expectantly awaiting some cheek scritches. Now, an important thing to know about Jazz is that he has the softest, most scritchable li'l cheeks this side of the Willamette. He's a confident, body-positive boy who's an enthusiastic yes on ear pets, back pets, bum pets, and tail pets too. He doesn't even hardly fuss if he needs to get picked up and held. Trust issues? Not Jazzy! He thinks humans are just the elephant's eyebrows (jazz for "terrific!"). Jazz responds to being called and happily cooperates whenever we need to take a trip in his carrier. With proper training, Jazz could probably pick up a whole repertoire of far out tricks and hot licks.

Free Jazz is our favorite jazz 'round these parts! Jazz has turned his foster provider's basement into the coolest underground club in town, but he loves to come upstairs so he can clamber around, nudge an ankle or two for scritches, and take a well-deserved mid-day nap. Jazz would be a fantastic free roamer with minimal bunny-proofing. If he does need to be in an enclosure at times in his forever home, Jazz's physical strength, clever li'l mind, and intrepid spirit lend him a penchant for freedom that necessitates an exceptionally well-reinforced pen. He has no demonstrated interest in chewing cords, shoes, or human objects generally with the exception of certain houseplants, which do get an occasional nibble if left in reach. He might, on occasion, knock an object over, but he's generally fairly cognizant of his surroundings.

Jazzy is a perpetually munchin' munchkin. He might still have some growing to do and might reach up to 8-9lbs by the time he's about a year old. He loves his kibbles and his hay and his treats with every bone in his not-so-little body. He's even a voracious water sipper - "gotta stay hydrated" is Jazz's personal motto. Put something (anything!) in front of Jazz and stay tuned for a mini-concert of delighted grunts and snorts while he chows down. This boy's got an inborn horn and he knows how to play it.
