Introducing Babba – a strikingly good-looking and exceptionally intelligent boy, estimated to be around one and a half years old and weighing just under 70 pounds. His exact breed mix is unknown without a DNA test, but it's speculated that he may be part Shepherd, possibly with some Lab lineage.
Babba, alongside his brother Gordo, once enjoyed a domestic life until the unfortunate passing of their owner led to their surrender to a partnering shelter. Gordo has since found a new family, and now it's Babba's turn to seek a permanent home. He has spent time in a shelter since last summer but had the good fortune to be included in a 12-week training program. Post-training, he has returned to the shelter and is eagerly waiting for a loving home.
Babba is exceedingly affable, quick to learn, and already exhibits excellent manners. His sweet and mellow nature makes him an ideal addition to many homes. He loves his walks and, despite a hint of initial timidity and submissiveness, he quickly becomes affectionate and outgoing. Babba thrives in social situations, getting along well with other dogs, and has had limited but positive interactions with children. His behavior around cats has yet to be observed.
He displays a generally well-rounded energy level, typically moderate but always up for an adventure. During his training program, he worked individually with a trainer and within group sessions, mastering basic commands and impressing with his progress.
The perfect setting for Babba would be a home with moderate activity where he can have access to a yard, ideally fenced. While familiarity with large breeds isn't mandatory, it's a plus.
Potential adopters should be aware that Babba has been out of a typical home environment for some time, which means he'll need time to adjust to household life once again. Patience and a nurturing attitude will be crucial for his transition.
Adoption Requirements:
Babba comes fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm-negative, and maintains a regular routine of preventative healthcare.
