Intake date: 9/9/23
Pepa is a young ball python who was adopted in 2021 and returned in 2023. Unfortunately she was not being fed enough and she came back to us fairly thin and stunted. Pepa has a fantastic appetite and she takes everything we give her. She is currently on small F/T rats but could be moved up to medium rats soon. She handles pretty well and while she can occasionally be nervous, she has never struck. Pepa is currently much smaller than she should be, but in our experience stunted snakes still obtain full size after a few years of proper care. She has already gained a lot of weight with us and is looking much pudgier! Her adoption fee is $50.

We do NOT approve glass tanks/aquariums for ball pythons due to humidity and security issues. While they can be appropriately modified, this is not easy for a beginner keeper and we have seen repeated issues with stuck shed and anorexia. Please check out our care guide for alternative housing methods--we do approve PVC cages and appropriate bin setups.
We do approve cages that are solid sided but have screen tops--they just MUST be modified. We've listed a few examples/brands of acceptable cages below.
Dubia.com (screen top--must cover)
Zen Habitats (screen top--must cover)
EcoFlex (screen top--must cover; available on Amazon/Chewy)
The Gorgon's Head
Black Box Cages
